Candy Corn Butterfinger Bites Recipe for Halloween Treats

How was everyone’s Halloween? I hope you enjoyed an evening with more treats than tricks. I certainly indulged — it’s one of those holidays where you can allow yourself a few extra candies. My favorite post-Halloween snack to make with leftovers is these Candy Corn Butterfinger Bites.

If you have leftover candy corn, these bites are an ideal way to use it up. They’re quick, require no baking, and everything is done in the microwave. The texture and flavor mimic classic Butterfinger candies, so if you like Butterfingers, you’ll enjoy this easy homemade version.

I’ve also included a short video tutorial showing how to make these tasty treats.

With Halloween behind us and Thanksgiving approaching, it’s fun to shift into the next season of gatherings and comfort food. Recently, while taking a Cultural Aspects of Food class at the University of Utah, I completed an assignment exploring how food shapes personal and cultural identity. I created a short video for the project and used the chance to make these Candy Corn Butterfinger Bites on camera. Cooking while I spoke helped me feel more at ease in front of the lens and gave the presentation a natural, hands-on feel. I chose this recipe because it matched the ingredients I had on hand: candy corn, peanut butter, and chocolate. You can watch the video I made for class below or continue to the recipe.

Candy Corn Butterfinger Bites
Yields: 18 balls
Ingredients:
– 2 cups candy corn
– 1 cup peanut butter
– 1 cup chocolate chips
– 1 tablespoon oil
Instructions:
1. Place the candy corn in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 15-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the candy corn is fully melted and smooth.
2. Warm the peanut butter in the microwave until it becomes pourable. Stir the melted peanut butter into the melted candy corn until the mixture is uniform and holds together.
3. Form the mixture into 1-inch balls using your hands or a small scoop. Arrange the balls on a nonstick sheet or parchment paper and freeze until firm.
4. While the filling chills, combine the chocolate chips and oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Melt the chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring between intervals until smooth.
5. Remove the chilled centers from the freezer and dip each ball into the melted chocolate, coating completely. Return the coated bites to the parchment and freeze again until the chocolate sets.
6. Store the finished bites in the refrigerator or freezer. Serve cold or at a slightly chilled temperature for the best texture.
