Kickstart Your Week: Motivation Monday #14 Ideas and Boost

Happy Monday, everyone!

Last week I skipped my Motivation Monday post because I wrote about seasonal fruits and vegetables in my “What’s in season: JUNE” post. Today I’m back to give you a little push—just in case you’re slacking. Monday is a fantastic day to start a change, push harder, or set new goals. It’s a fresh beginning when anything feels possible.

But first—how was your weekend? Did you recharge your batteries? I’m super energized and ready for the week. I didn’t work much, which was a relief, and I had a lot of fun. I went to a wonderful cheese party (no photos, but trust me, it was great) and finished the weekend with a relaxed family dinner at my mother-in-law’s. I even came home with a basket full of sour cherries and redcurrants, so expect something sweet this week.

Today I want to share a small victory. I’ll admit I’m going to show off a little—this means a lot to me and might inspire you too.

Those who follow me know I’ve been running for a while. Running has been my sanity saver lately. I’m still a beginner, but with every training session I try to improve and push myself further.

Last week I hit a personal best: on Friday I ran 2.9 miles (4.7 km). That’s almost three miles—woohoo! Some might say it’s not much to brag about, but for me it’s a huge accomplishment. Three weeks ago I couldn’t even do half that distance.

Every time I lace up and head out, it’s a battle. It feels like starting over each time—legs feel heavy, heart races, lungs burn, and my brain screams “can’t do it!” But then I push. I remember why I started and the incredible feeling after a completed workout, and I keep going. I quiet that “can’t do it” voice and focus on my goal. Once I do, the run gets easier: my legs settle, my breathing finds a rhythm, and it becomes just me and the road. One motivating voice overtakes the doubt, telling me I’m strong and capable.

The same mindset helped when I began eating healthier and losing weight. There were many moments of doubt when I thought I might give up. Instead, I shook those thoughts off, found strength within, and pushed past the “I can’t” barrier. I knew what giving up felt like, and this time I chose to see what would happen if I didn’t quit.

So when things feel hard and you want to give up—remember why you started.

Who do you want to be tomorrow? HEALTHY AND HAPPY.

How do you want to feel? GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF AND SATISFIED.

Every day, strive to be a better version of yourself. Push yourself. Believe in yourself. When you reach your goals isn’t the most important part—direction is. It doesn’t matter how slowly you go as long as you don’t stop.

Just don’t stop.

Until next Monday—hugs and kisses.

Xoxo,
